Austech Connect Telly Award

We Won a Telly Award!

On Wednesday morning Austech Connect were awarded a Bronze Telly Award in the vertical of “Craft use of AR” for our Stadium Augmented Reality experience in collaboration with the City of Gold Coast.

This Stadium AR experience was built for the City of Gold Coast to highlight the many sports which our premiere stadium, Metricon Stadium can take. This is a part of the sport and event attraction effort for the City of Gold Coast.

The experience is a 2-way experience, it can be used as an Augmented Reality showcase, you can place Metricon Stadium on your board room table, or on the floor and scale it up in size. It is purely interactive and has many amazing animations.

It can also be used as a Web Virtual Reality Experience where you can move around the stadium, interact with the stadium from your computer. Whilst both the experiences are the same, the difference in how they perform and feel are very different which is powerful.

This has been the largest and most complex Augmented Reality experience that we have ever undertaken, and we did push the boundaries of what is possible in this space.

When you realise that we have delivered this experience via a Web AR platform, meaning this is an experience that does not need an App. We pushed what was possible technically to the edge.

This is an amazing accomplishment and great validation for our team and our ability to produce world class work.

The Telly Awards are in their 42nd year and are one of the biggest awards in the advertising/marketing/television space in the world.

Over 12,000 entries were submitted for this years Telly awards from 5 continents. So to be announced a winner in such a large nominees is quite special.
